We will be adding a new feature beginning in October. A fixed price or best offer will be available on certain listings.
Here is how it works: A reserved buy it now (BAM) will allow bidders to purchase a piece at a fixed price or bid with a best offer that may or may not be accepted by the consignor. Callbacks would be available should the item not meet the fixed price, but the ultimate decision would be up to the consignor.
The advantages to the bidder is that they have an option of buying the item outright, or making an offer. This offer would be conducted as bidding just like in the regular auction, but would end once the item reaches its fixed price. For the consignor, they have the option of offering an item that may sell quickly at a fixed price, and they still have no seller fees! They also have the opportunity to take an offer that is made on an item.
Since this feature is designed to bring higher quality items to the auction and generate interest, we will not accept items as consignment for this if the fixed price would be agreed upon at less than $350. In order to dissuade items being offered at ridiculous prices, we will charge a $25 listing fee to the consignor. This fee is refundable if the item sells either as fixed price or best offer. If no offers are received, the item is returned to the consignor at their expense for shipping and insurance.
All the fixed price items will be listed as the end lots of the auction, and will be designated as "BAM" items. The fixed price will be clearly mentioned.. The first bidder reaching the fixed price will be declared the winner of that lot and invoiced immediately. All registered bidders will be notified when listed and again 2-3 days prior to opening of the auction.
Sound like fun? Contact us now for the October auction, or with any items to be run as regular auction items. You have nothing to lose. 0% seller fees still in effect!.
